These letters were received from the Great Great Grandson of Pvt. Cutter. Mr. Cutter was born in Meadville, Crawford Co., PA
He enlisted as a Private on 29 August 1862. Mustered out 15 June 1865
Company K was stationed at the Soldiers’ Home which was the summer residence of President Lincoln. They continued to be the President’s Body Guard until after the assassination.
